Updates!

Wow... is it time to slow down yet? I feel like I've been going non-stop since the beginning of March. Oh wait, I have been?!

I haven't blogged about it yet but I went back to work part-time. I'm working at my dad's bar - not behind the counter or serving or anything like that but I'm working on the books. I'm loving it... honestly I didn't think I would but getting out of the house and learning something new has actually been really good for me. Landon as well! It helps that we found an awesome lady to babysit him! I'm finally getting the hang of things down at the bar - even though I still feel really clueless - and thing are actually starting to turn around down there though, I have no real explanation as to why?! Other than I'm actually depositing the money instead of it being pocketed somehow?! Just sayin'.

Right after I started working our ENTIRE family got sick. I mean everyone! Mom and dad, Adam and  Landon, myself, my sister?! Sick. Sucked...
It started as just a fun old head cold but then over the course of about three weeks migrated from your chest to your sinus' and then down to your throat with a nasty cough. In Landon and my mom's case it turned into a sinus infection because they were so congested. Landon's finally cleared up and then I appeared to get it again... for a total of about a month and a half. Landon seemed to get another cough but it never amounted to anything, thank goodness!

I spent a whole week planning Landon's 2nd birthday party and I thought I had everything planned out for it to go smoothly and OH Boy! was I wrong! There were about 10 kids under 5 years of age and that will never.... ever... go smoothly. Chaos describes it at best. Our main attraction was to be our banana split bar and I even forgot to get everything out! Cupcakes it was?! Oiy.
Landon had fun regardless that he had no nap and was a bear. He got TONS of awesome gifts and slept fabulous that night :)

He had his 24 month well "baby" checkup on Wednesday and little {big} man is 30lbs and 30 inches tall! So funny cause he is in the 25th percentile for his height but 75th percentile for his weight. I'm hoping that he's in the process of a growth spurt and he'll even out a little bit! :) She said he's perfectly normal in his speech which I was kind of concerned about since he's still speaking in single syllables. Also, his coordination and athleticism is off the charts! All good news!
Let me tell you though the instant he turned two we've discovered the terrible two's!!! I think they are stemming from the fact that he was around a ton of older kids the last week from his party and company that we had staying with us that he's picking up on their habits or wants to do things that he can't communicate to me. But, it could also be teething or lord knows what?! Or... maybe he's just a two year old and it's all normal?! :)

After his party, mom ended up getting sick... again! What the hey! Luckily come Easter she was feeling much better and HOPEFULLY this sickness if gone from our household! We dyed eggs on Saturday night which was interesting :) Landon is still too young to know "gentle" but we got a few eggs without cracks so I guess that's a success!
Sunday morning he got to see his baskets which he LOVED! I filled his with Cars stuff and the Cars 2 movie {cause we've seen the original a bagillion times!} - Landon loved it!
Easter Sunday was so much fun! Adam made us an Easter breakfast before he headed out fishing and then Ash and I started the day with a few Mimosa's :) During Landon's nap Adam and I hid his eggs... so fun since last year he was too little to get it. Easter will always be special to us since that's the day that we got to bring him home from the hospital :)
We had an awesome dinner and Landon played outside ALL.DAY! Literally. He did take a break though to notice a few eggs hidden and we coaxed him to find ALL of them!

Wow... it's been a while so that was quite the update! I hope I remembered everything...  :)

We're 1 now!

I just realized that I never updated on how Landon was feeling after his little stomach bug last week :( Poor kid.

After he got that Zofran at the urgent care clinic we didn't have anymore puke fests however we did spike a pretty good fever for the next 24 hours.

It sucked.
But we made it through! The next morning since he still had a fever over 101f I called Dr. C's office; she was out, but the nurse said he should be fine as long as he's content and if Tylenol is keeping it down. He spent most of his birthday on Tuesday asleep in my arms. He was just exhausted and so lethargic!
I was supposed to leave on Wednesday for western WA so I was little concerned if we'd be able to make it. I spent what little time he'd give me packing us up in hopes that we'd be able to leave.

The next morning he didn't have a fever and he kept some breakfast down so off we went! We had a fabulous 5 or so days over there with family and friends. We celebrated his 1st birthday and he got his very first 4-wheeler! He also enjoyed a little cupcake this time... kind of, before he dumped it frosting side down on the floor :) Such fun.

Weeeee!

Just a little messy :)
I also got to enjoy a little slice of heaven, just in case you don't know what I mean, by slice... I mean actual slice...

I had to make it BIG!
That's Cloverleaf people. I drive 5 hours just to eat it... I have no clue why it's so good!

Meal Plan #4... NOT!

No meal plan this week!
Week #3 went pretty well though! The only night we didn't follow our plan was Thursday with the Ravioli, eh, it was a bag anyway! I switched a few nights around but other than that it was a pretty good week!
I would have posted sooner cause I was going to at least do Monday and Tuesday... Wednesday - next Monday I'll be on the west siiiiiiiide :) **Insert 1980's chuckle here** But - poor little man has had the stomach flu since this morning. So dinner was out for tonight and tomorrow we've just taken out a homemade pot pie to throw in - exciting week eh?

Not something I really want to blog about cause poor guy didn't get to eat a dang thing today and was so worn out. But to recap, he woke up this morning with a crib full of puke and a diaper full of mush - I'll spare you the details :(

I hoped maybe it was a fluke but he wasn't really interested in his milk when he first got up and barfed again half way through his bananas and toast.
Then he proceeded to nap on me for the next hour, then in his crib for another hour.
He got up and ate some sting cheese and a little more banana, along with some water. All of which he kept down but he was still not himself and wanted to nap on me for another 45 minutes and back in his crib for another hour =/ Wow.
After that he got up feeling a little more normal and less lethargic. After downing almost a full sippy cup of water he was acting like he was staving so we tried some crackers and a little applesauce... no bueno my friends - round 2 of changing his crib sheets commenced shortly after. :(

So into the Urgent Care clinic we go - since it was already 3pm and our clinic couldn't fit us in. On the ride down, little man proceeded to cover himself AND his carseat :( Poor boy.
The Dr. gave him some Zofran, which is an anti nausea medicine and had us drink some juice that he did keep down so we were released to go home.
We picked up some Pedialyte and some saltine crackers on the way and he sipped on that and ate one cracker before he just couldn't take anymore - it was way passed his bedtime. I did notice right before bed that he was running a little fever so I called back down to Urgent Care to see if that was normal or if it was ok to give him Tylenol with the Zofran, they said it was ok and he's been sleeping for about 2 hours now.

We'll see how long this lasts :(

If he pukes again they told me I'd probably need to take him down to the pediatric ER since he hasn't had anything in his stomach since dinner last night.
They also told me if his fever lasts through to the morning to call our regular Dr.

So we're watching him - I swear I've been in to check on him like 20 times already :(

I'm a Hot Momma!

Rather... Landon is hot, momma :(

First of all, I thought he was spoiling me by cuddling with me yesterday morning until just after 9am! Wohoo! But further examination while we were getting him dress was that he was burning up - with a temperature of 103! Oiy! After a minor freak out by me, a dose of Tylenol and a call into Dr. C: we were to monitor him, dose him with Tylenol every 4-6 hours or as needed and if it's still over 101 after 24 hours to bring him into the clinic to see if there was something underlying going on.

Side note: He's teething right? Did you know a lot of doctors don't believe that fever is associated with teething??? I've always heard that... but anyway, that's what Dr. C said. She says, for the most part she disagrees, but she also said that generally a "teething fever" is low grade and generally no higher than 100-101.

Let me say... I have one HAPPY baby for having a temperature above 100! He's smiley and running around like normal, a little clingy but for the most part alright.

After getting up at 9am he surprisingly was ready for a nap by 10:30am. He slept for a good two hours and when he got up his temp was normal. Wohoo! Well, 4 hours later, he's burning up again and it's hovering right around 100. So I gave him anther dose of Tylenol and we went on with our day. When Adam got home from work he could just tell that he wasn't feeling well. His face was flushed and he was really whiny so when we checked him again he was back up to 102 :( Poor guy... I was thiiiiiis close to taking him down to the clinic but Adam thought I should give it the 24 hours like Dr. C said and wait until morning. So we waited.

Ugh. Landon hasn't gotten up in the middle of the night in I don't know HOW long. But.... he was up at 3am, and 5am, and 6am, and then finally we got out of bed at 8:30. Momma.is.tired!!! His temp this morning was right around 100 so we gave him some Tylenol and he seemed to have an OK morning. He just played like normal, he ate fine, and was smiley! :)

Well, around 3pm it spiked again... poor guy. Off to the clinic we go... He has a double ear infection and I'm kicking myself that I didn't just go to the clinic last night. He didn't act like he was in any pain and he regularly pulls on his ears when he's tired but I didn't even really see him do that?! So weird. But that's what they tell us - so he's on Amoxicillin for 10 days and we've got a prescription for Ibuprofen to give him as needed. Here's hoping my little man sleeps well tonight.

Sorry... no pictures today - I'm off to bed. :(

Oh man...

Sooooo it appears I made it to day 16 of the 30 Day Blog Journal. And then... we all got sick :(

I'll catch up I promise... it just might take me a little longer than 30 days to finish it. Speaking of finishing, because we're all sickos right now, the 30 Day Shred took a little backseat as well. I've been pretty good though, 11 days in I've only skipped 4 days and I fully intend to add every skipped day onto the end so I now am working toward a 34 Day Shred :)

So anyway, Landon came down with this cold first. Last Sunday I noticed a little cough, told Adam to watch for it on Monday and by Tuesday it was in full effect. I stayed home from work and took him into the doctor (not our regular doctor) who gave him a full once over and checked him out. She basically said though that if it gets worse to come back. Thanks doc! So then by Tuesday night I started getting a sore throat and I think Adam started getting it on Friday. It's some kind of sinus cold or something. After the sore throat starts then the congestion and sinus headache sets in and now 5 days later, I'm a snot machine!!! It's getting better though and Landon's cough is almost gone. Oh our babysitter has it now too :) Lucky him!
